Empowering Sustainable Global Change & Policy- making support: One S-ROI at a time

The problem

EcoROI is a Universal Project Management Tool that integrates real-time data from Copernicus, enhancing collaboration and effectiveness in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

How does EcoROI work?

Our MVP enables users to input project sustainability specifications and targets, cross-check and validate this information using satellite data, and calculate the Sustainability Return on Investment (S-ROI).

This approach empowers policymakers and stakeholders to prioritize the highest-impact tasks. By focusing on activities that generate the greatest returns—whether in carbon sequestration, energy savings, water efficiency, heat reduction, or job creation—resources can be deployed more effectively.

Reflection

  • This was a particularly challenging experience, as I needed to quickly understand a complex product, both in terms of its technical aspects and terminology. I had to grasp its goals and the needs of its target audience, which consisted of sustainability experts and professionals rather than general users.

  • One of my key responsibilities was to advocate for the user while aligning with the business analyst's vision—striking a balance between usability, intuitiveness, and business goals.

  • Additionally, the fast-paced nature of the project taught me an important lesson: sometimes the best approach isn’t about achieving perfection, but about delivering results efficiently and effectively.
